Course Objectives:

  • To educate students about sound money management skills and the financial planning process.
  • To help teens begin to develop skills needed to make good financial decisions

The course will introduce student to money management:   

  • Planning
  • Credit
  • Career and College
  • Savings and Investing

Materials

  • Student portfolio:   2 pocket folder or binder.  Any additional materials will be discussed in class.

Grading:  **subject to change

  • Major 70%
  • Minor 30%
    • Final Exam =10% of overall grade   **Check X2 for your grades and/or missing assignments.
    •   It is the student’s responsibility to make up any work missed due to absenteeism. All make-up work is to be completed within 1 week of the due date, after that a  grade of Zero will be recorded.

Homework – Homework is sometimes the basis for the next class period; each student needs to have it completed in order to participate.

  • Come prepared – Students should come with all the materials they need for class
  • Participate – Class Participation is a portion of the grade.

Remember to handle lab equipment and materials responsibly. All students are required to have their own username and password. In the event a piece of equipment is broken or used inappropriately, it is up to the discretion of the Administration as to the disciplinary actions that may be taken.
